Wednesday Evening 2nd August 2017 Brat Tor

So much rain.  All day.  A good job we did the Fur Tor walk yesterday because we would not have been able to cross the rivers today. Just 3 of us for the evening walk from High Down as we set out in the cloud and mizzle. To the stepping stones, of course we went over the adjacent bridge.

Then probably the steepest bit of Dartmoor - up to Brat Tor with Widgery Cross on top as it emerged in the mist.

Across to the girt to follow the Doetor Brook down to the old mine cottage.

As we left the cottage the cloud and mizzle lifted as we crossed the Doetor Brook. Now Widgery Cross was visible for miles and I wished I had my proper camera with me.

On to Doe Tor...

...as more cloud blew through.

Down to the old farm as the light disappeared and back to the start.

On to the Mary Tavy Inn. with Jon and Brenda
