Tuesday 3rd July Cadover Bridge

Yet another one of those 'Dartmoor days'.  Will the rain ever stop?  Will we all die of rust first? Will July be the wettest July ever just like April and June? I mean it could get you down!

Just me and Charlie today - Roger and Carol ended up in Postbridge.  The two of us set off from Cadover Bridge in the gloop and soon found Cadworthy Tor (226).

Not much furthe along the ridge was the top of the Dewerstone (227).  Now normally, you would be able to see Plymouth Sound easily and a lot more besides but not today.

Down the path through the woods...

...to the bridge across the River Plym and you wouldn't want to get into that

Then up the 'pipeline' walk back through the trees and out on to Shadon Moor looking for Shaugh Beacon but we couldn't find it - it might be these rocks but I will find out for sure on clearer day.

Back down to the 'pipeline' track with just a glimpse of the Dewerstone....

...and Cadworthy Tor on the other side of the river...

...and back to the cars.  On to the Skylark for an excellent baguette and having sorted out some of  the major economic problems we left feeling invigorated and pleased we had made the effort. The good news was that it was now raining heaver than it had done all morning!!
