Tuesday 18th June Burrator Woods

An earlier start and a shorter walk today so that we could meet him in the pub.  Warm and humid.   Starting from Lowery Cross we went down through the woods.

Heavy overnight rain.

Past the potato cave...

 ...to Leather Tor Bridge.

Then to follow the River Meavy...

...along the east bank and no one could remember walking on this bit of the moor before.

To the aqueduct.  Strange that I was only here last week following a different route.

Then back following the leat....

...past the  miniature Indian's head sculpture embedded in the wall of the leat.

Around the corner of the woods and up to...

...the gap between Leather Tor and Sharpitor.

Burrator reservoir below.

Over Peak Hill...

...and back through the woods.

On to the Walkhampton Inn to wait for them to open.  And we got there before he did!

With Brian, Terry and Rosemary and Bud and Brian in the pub.
