Thursday 17th May Brent Tor

Three 'drive by' tors - easy to get to by car and difficult to do a proper walk to any.  Starting Brent Tor (173).  Brent Tor Church was built 800 years ago on top of the tor.

A tiny church.

Next stop was to Was Tor (174) which is on private land with brambles all around.  You can just see it in the middle of this picture and slightly more detail below.

I then drove to Lydford Gorge  which is owned by the National Trust.  I had forgotten just how narrow the paths were in some places.  Slippery underfoot and I would probably have felt more secure in training shoes.

Ravens Tor (175) can't be seen from here.  It sits on top of this 'cliff face' in Lydford Gorge.  It is not accessable on the top either because it is on private land.

On leaving I just couldn't resist the tea rooms with a slice of choclolate caramel.
