Tuesday 2nd August Princetown

There was cloud covering Princetown until just before we started walking and then it turned into a warm, humid day.  Extra walkers today with friends and relatives on holiday joining us.  In the team today Harry, Rosemary, Paul, Paul, Karen, Charlie, Bud, Terry and Jim.

So out from Princetown on the familiar track to South Hessary Tor.  There used to be a boundary marker on top of the tor but it had been sawn off and removed.

The view to the East with Rippon Tor in the far distance...

...and to the South West we could just make out the Breakwater in Plymouth Sound

At the junction with the Peat Cot track and the view towards Sheeps Tor and Down Tor.

Down to  Older Bridge to follow the leat for a while with cattle in the way but our man with some cattle experience sorted that.  Meanwhile Holly decided to go for a long walk all on her own so we just waited until she decided to come with us.

The view across to Burrator reservoir which appeared to have a little more water than when we last looked.

Down Tor and Sheeps Tor

Then down to Crazy Well Pool.

At Crazy Well Pool for the various stories, rumours and tragedies.

..followed by a gentle walk up to Cramber Tor...

...before going down hill to the stream and up to Hart Tor.

Along the rifle range and up to the railway track for the short walk to Princetown

Our final destination was the Prince of Wales for well earned refreshments - even if it did take a while for the food to arrive!
