Wednesday 1st January The weir in Horrabridge after the heavy rain

A short walk in the rain today to visit the weir in the middle of the village after the very heavy rain.  I wondered if the flood channel was working and it was.

The nearest weir is for days like this when the river is in spate.  I doesn't normally have any water going over it and I haven't seen this before.

There were lots of people out taking photographs - well it doesn't happen very often although it has also been much higher!

 

The 'No Diving' sign on the far wall is usually about 6 feet above the water!
