Wednesday Morning 18th September Staple Tor

Rain first thing and an angry sky at the car park.

Not one but two German coaches stopped for five minutes.  Everyone gets out, walks all round the car park taking photos  and then they all get back on again and off they go to do the same thing at the next stop.

The appointed walk organiser didn't turn up so up to Middle Staple Tor we went.

By now the sun was coming out and we had fine views in all directions.

Down there was where we did yestedays walk.

Great Staple Tor was the next stop...

...from here we could just see Fur Tor teasingly looking much closer than it really is.

On to Roos Tor and what did we find - Dr Tom on his own walk with David. They didn't have time to continue with us.

It was decided our next stop would be Great Mis Tor... 

...and down the valley we went stopping at the bottom for a break.

Then a phone call came through for Anne who needed to return urgently so we all went back.

Tuesday 22nd January White Tor

As we set off from Pork Hill car park there was heavy rain falling - this eased as we walked up to Lower Staple Tor and then as we got higher it changed to sleet.

Along the ridge between Lower Staple Tor and Great Staple Tor.

Across to Cox Tor

From Roos Tor we went over to White Tor around the enclosed land and up to White Tor...

...which had two red flags.

Then back to the path through the enclosed land...

...and on to Cox Tor

Lunch in the Whitchurch Inn.  With Rosemary, Terry, Charlie, Amber, Colin, Brian and Bill.

Sunday 28th October Scouts Sponsored Walk

A 20 kilometer walk with the Horrabridge Sea Scouts from Princetown and back to Horrabridge.  A small group of scouts set out from Princetown on the railway track.

This pair did the complete walk three legged.

At Merrivale we were joined by the cubs and more parents. Up to Great Staple Tor where the expected rain finally started and everyone got a bit of a soaking.

A bit wetter at Pork Hill car park where we were joined by the Beavers and more parents.

At least the rain had stopped and we were out of the cloud.
