Tuesday 17th September Four Winds

 A wet drizzly morning and this was the view from Four Winds

Up to the last working quarry on Dartmoor, just before the Yellowmead Track

Hollow Tor was next.

Down to the railway track.

Back to the start.  We didn't see much for the whole walk but the forecast heavy rain didn't materialise and we did of course feel better just for being out there!

Tuesday 12th February Four Winds

 A dull cold day and just a touch of frost underfoot.  We set off from Four Winds and up to Hollow Tor.

We cut over to Swelltor Quarry....

...and one of the large holes left behind.

King Tor was our next stop.

Then down to cross the stream and up to the large standing stone...

 ...and over to the stone row before returning to the cars.

Lunch was in the Darmoor Inn which was OK with Amber, Linda and Charlie.

Sunday 28th October Scouts Sponsored Walk

A 20 kilometer walk with the Horrabridge Sea Scouts from Princetown and back to Horrabridge.  A small group of scouts set out from Princetown on the railway track.

This pair did the complete walk three legged.

At Merrivale we were joined by the cubs and more parents. Up to Great Staple Tor where the expected rain finally started and everyone got a bit of a soaking.

A bit wetter at Pork Hill car park where we were joined by the Beavers and more parents.

At least the rain had stopped and we were out of the cloud.

Wednesday 8th February Four Winds

Ten of us for a wonderful atmospheric walk. Cold with a very heavy frost and the moor bathed in silver moonlight.

From Four Winds to the stream (one slipped into the water).  Then up to the railway track below King Tor.  Around to Leedon Tor for a break and back via Foggintor.  On a another night some of this would have been soft and boggy - not tonight - very firm under foot.
