Just two of us for the evening walk from Ringmoor Cottage. Fortunately we both had a plan but decided to follow Terry's route.
This took us down the edge of the moor towards Yeo Farm. A fine view of these crepuscular rays at the start. Just after this we saw a deer but it was much too fast for my camera.
Around the edge of Yeo Farm following the footpath and past the curly gate.
Into the bluebell woods. We had only ever been here before when the bluebells were out. Now replaced by the bracken.
Through Sheepstor and out on to the open moor just south of Sheeps Tor. The plan had been to go around the edge of the moorland but we found a 'drovers road' north of Yellowmead Farm and followed that. It is not marked as a footpath.
Rather overgrown in places and unlikely we will be coming back.
Back on the open moor and looking back to Sheeps Tor.
Past the multiple stone circle with Gutter Tor in the distance.
Up to the top of Gutter Tor where the drizzle came in for a while.
Then over the trig point (in the distance) and back to the cars.
As there were only two of us we completed the walk in exactly two hours. Probably the last walk before we have to start using the head torches again. No time for the pub as he had to put someone's chickens to bed!
