A mild evening a little mist, no moon and lots of mud. From Oakley Cottage up to the quarry where
Jon used his underwater camera to take pictures of the little newts just
below the surface. Next over the ridge towards Sampford Spiney to pick up the track to Vixen Tor, then a direct route across to Little Staple Tor where we had our break. Back down to the leat and the large stone, on to Windy Post and back over the top of Pew Tor. Finally to the Whitchurch Inn which, unusually, was completely empty.
