Welcome to the fog blog for today - we couldn't see much at all - just a little bit of moor and moor fog and on it went until nearly the end! Setting out from High Down across the river and straight up to Brat Tor...
...steep it is, but it blows away the cobwebs! Eventually Widgery Cross came into view - at least the going was a bit more easy from here.
So we crossed over to the main track - this is the boundary stone near Dick's Well...
...and on we went throught the mud.
Around below Lower Dunn Goat - we knew it was there, we just couldn't see it today. Then just the other side of the river was the ruin of Bleak House - quite a pretty spot in the sunshine but not today - just bleak!
Over more sloshy, muddy ground until we came to the main track - bound to be easier going under foot. This would have been much better if it hadn't been so wet.
And so this being the summer season we stopped to enjoy our picnic in the ....fog.
But as we descended lower all was not lost. Ever so quickly the fog started to lift and we could see Great Nodden ahead....
...just like that it was gone.
Roger and Carol stayed on the the track whilst...
Charlie and I set off below Great Nodden and through the workings for Lower Arms Tor.
Lower Arms Tor (232) with Arms Tor behind.
Then back to the ford...
...and the view back up towards the start of our walk with Widgery Cross now visible for miles. "Would you like to go round again to see the view" I asked "NO" was the polite version of the reply!
With Charlie, Carol and Roger. Just to tease us the sun came out on the way home!
