We knew the summer sunshine had to end at some point, just a shame it was today. This was to visit an area I haven't been to before - the Erme Valley. I have looked down on it from the track above Harford Moor but not actually walked in the valley. After a night of heavy rain, drizzle and hill fog were the order of the day.
We made our out from New Waste past the water treatment works and on to the track.
Not much of a view in any direction, just a glimpse of the river below.
Eventually we arrived at the weir.
From here we continued to follow the river for a while...
...crossing Bledge Brook and then looping round and up...
...through an area of bog cotton.
Occasionally the cloud would blow away and we could see a bit further.
Following a line of Cairns.
To the Stone Row near Stalldown Barrow before...
...stopping at Hillson's House for our picnic - not that this was really picnic weather!
Then down again and out of the cloud and back to the start.
With Rosemary, Terry, Charlie Brian and Roger
